FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to construction, in particular, to methods for protection of single support elements (for instance, piles and pillars) against action of forces of frost heaving of soils, also in areas of availability of permafrost soils. The method to protect support elements against frost heaving of soil in foundations of buildings, structures, erected on heaving soils, includes a support element arranged in soil, around the side surface of which in the designed zone of seasonal freezing-thawing, and if required, below it, there are serial layers of non-freezing material and protective shells, which may perceive the side pressure of the heaving soil without damage. The protective shell is made of materials, strength and deformation characteristics of which provide for the possibility to lift the shell for the value of maximum heaving of the freezing layer of soil and its return after full thawing of this layer. At the same time one of the ends of the shell is fixed to the support element. Reactive forces at the support element must be less than the bearing capacity of the support element to the pulling loads in soil below the lower border of the layer of the seasonal layer of freezing-thawing.

EFFECT: provision of reliability of a support device under action of forces of frost heaving of soil.
