FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control and measurement equipment and may be used to calibrate flow meters of a multi-phase flow without preliminary separation, for instance, when measuring debit of oil wells. The method to calibrate a multi-phase flow meter, consisting in the fact that one multi-phase flow meter is calibrated in large number of points. At the same time each of serially produced multi-phase flow meters is calibrated in a small number of points, the difference is detected between readings of sensors in these points and readings of that multi-phase flow meter, which is calibrated in the large number of points with the same combinations of flow rates. Then they interpolate differences and form calibrating characteristics for a specific multi-phase flow meter in a large number of points, using a calibrating characteristic of a multi-phase flow-meter, which was calibrated in the large number of points, and interpolated values of the difference. In the second version they thoroughly study several multi-phase flow meters, and readings of sensors are averaged.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of calibration.
