FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to veterinary virology and concerns a test system and a method for detecting RNA of Schmallenberg virus. The presented test system comprises Schm U primer having the nucleotide sequence 5'-CAA CCA GAA GAA GGC CAA GA-3', Schm L primer having the nucleotide sequence 5'-TCT GGC ACA GGA TTT GAG AC-3' and Schm Z probe having the sequence 5'-[Hex] CCC CAC CAA AAG TAA GAT CGA CAC [BHQ2]-3'. The presented method provides recovering RNA from a biological material, carrying out a polymerase chain reaction using the above primers and probe and amplifying RNA of the virus with real-time detection of amplification products. The results are interpreted in terms of the presence/absence of intersection of a fluorescence curve and a threshold line.
EFFECT: presented inventions may be used in veterinary virology for recognising the Schmallenberg virus genome.
