FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to reconditioning of worn-out parts and can be used at works that recondition, for example, ICE valve cam follower. Proposed method comprises stripping of flaws and wear traces from article surface by electrochemical treatment at electrolyte feed via tubular electrode-tools. Pig iron build-up on steel substrate and tempering is performed at 350°C for stress relief. After built-up surface finishing, it is oxidised in wetted nitrogen atmosphere at 450±5°C and water flow rate of 1.0-1.4 l/h.
EFFECT: recovery of worn-out surface, flawless built-up layer that features high wear and score resistance.
