FIELD: restoration of worn parts, possibly electrochemical formation of wear resistant oxide coatings on parts of aluminium and its alloy such as pistons at restoring and strengthening worn parts of repaired machines. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of growing outer surface of part; mechanically working it, strengthening it by microarc oxidizing. According to invention growing of outer surface of part is realized by thermal and elastoplastic deforming of part. Part is mechanically worked to nominal size after microarc oxidizing. Method allows to receive minimum but sufficient for wear compensation and for further working growing of outer cylindrical surface of part. EFFECT: enhanced wear resistant of applied coating at restoration of machine parts. 1 tbl
