SUBSTANCE: invention refers to control of steam iron steaming functions. The seam iron contains a handle designed so that to enable movement between the first handle position and the second handle position with a displacement mechanism in place for the handle displacement into the first handle position. Additionally, the iron contains a user control means, designed so that to enable regulation between the first state and the second state, and the steam flow rate control unit, functionally connected to the handle and the user control means and designed so that to enable setup of the steam iron steam flow rate so that the steam flow rate is set up based on the user control means, irrespective of the handle position, while the user control means is in the first state and based on at least the handle position while the user control means is in the second state.

EFFECT: design enables reduction of steam flow rate whenever required, being thus of energy-saving type.
