FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be applied in gauging of gas and fluid flow. The measuring device includes linear drift tube of D diametre and L length, and input and outlet chambers. Input and outlet chambers are connected to the tube by a confuser and diffuser respectively. The chambers hold first and second electroacoustic converters connected to a measurement unit. A measurement channel with the diametre of d = (0.4-0.6)D is set coaxially in the drift pipe. At the end close to the input chamber the measurement channel has a span with the length of 1≥0.05L, sloping at 15 grad. Distance h between the measurement channel and the second electroacoustic converter along the flow is determined by the condition of h=(0.4-0.6)D.
EFFECT: improved precision of measurement.
