FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, more specifically to a protector for embolism prevention used to avoid penetration of an undesired embolic material into one or more branched main vessels, e.g. of aortic arch, as well as to a method for decompression of the same device in the aortic arch for cerebral protection. The foldable embolism protector aims at the transvascular delivery to the patient's aortic arch and at the temporary protection, of at least one side branched vessel of the above aortic arch from the embolic material. The protector has a protective chain comprising a selective permeable chain and the first stopper element holding the protective chain. The selective permeable chain is adjusted to prevent passage of the embolic material with the blood flow. The protective chain is connected with the transvascular delivery chain in a connection point. The first stopper element for holding the protective chain is at least partially arranged on the periphery of the selective permeable chain. When the device is extended, the connection point is surrounded by the first stopper element and integrated therewith. The connection point is eccentrically arranged in the protector to prevent embolism so as the transvascular delivery chain is eccentrically attached to the protective chain wherein the selective permeable chain is non-tubular, substantially planar in the extended position. The above foldable protector, as well as the transvascular delivery chain adjustable for the delivery of the above device are components of a medical instrument kit. Besides, the method for prevention of penetration of the embolic material in at least one of the number of lateral branched vessels with the blood flow from the patient's aortic arch provides the transvascular delivery thought the peripheral blood vessel directly attached to the transvascular delivery chain in the attachment point of the foldable protector to prevent embolism in the folded condition in the above aortic arch. Extending the protective chain of the above foldable protector in the aortic arch and thereby positioning the protective chain in the extended, substantially planar position of the aortic arch. Preventing penetration of the embolic material with the blood flow into a number of lateral branched aortic vessels in the aortic arch by the non-tubular selective permeable chain of the protective chain. The protective chain is delivered eccentrically by the transvescular delivery chain which is eccentrically attached in the attachment point.
EFFECT: presented group of inventions enables providing higher patient's protection against the embolic material in process of a surgical operation.
