SUBSTANCE: invention relates to remote control. The remote control unit (10) has a touch-sensitive control panel (27) and a transmitting device (18, 33) for transmitting encoded signals (17). The encoded signals (17) are generated depending on the direction (δ) of movement of contact to successive areas of the control panel (27) independent of the point of contact to the control panel. The encoded signals can also be generated depending on movement of the remote control unit (10) coupled with a motion sensor (31).
EFFECT: efficient control of a remote control unit without visual contact.
