SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of preventing or reporting on unauthorised use or hijacking of a vehicle. The system implements a detection strategy and a warning strategy for each monitoring area, wherein the detection strategy is a set of rules which control detection in the monitoring area and the warning strategy is a set of rules which control how alarm signals are generated by the system and which are stored in a storage unit. A control unit receives input signals of strategy parameters, wherein the detection and/or warning strategies are adapted for dynamic, continuous and adaptive change according to said strategy parameters.
EFFECT: achieving dynamic adjustment of detection and warning strategies, minimising false triggering and simple monitoring system.
