SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication systems. If an object receives a message which includes an unknown quality of service parameter (e.g., a category identifier) for a one-way channel, that object may select a quality of service parameter for said one-way channel from a set of known quality of service parameters. Here, a quality of service parameter with a guaranteed bitrate can be selected from said set after determining that said unknown quality of service parameter is associated with the one-way channel with a guaranteed bitrate. Alternatively, a quality of service parameter with an unguaranteed bitrate can be selected from said set after determining that said unknown quality of service parameter is not associated with the one-way channel with a guaranteed bitrate.
EFFECT: high efficiency of setting quality of service parameters.
