FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for quantitative determination of N-nitrosamines in urine involves collecting a urine sample; preparing the urine sample for analysis by adding sodium sulphate to the sample in ratio of 1 part by volume sample to 3.2 parts by weight sodium sulphate; heating the mixture on a water bath until phase equilibrium is established; collecting the formed gas-vapour sample and feeding said sample into the capillary column of a gas chromatograph; performing gas chromatographic separation of N-nitrosodimethylamine and N-nitrosodiethylamine and the amount of each said substance is determined from a calibration curve.
EFFECT: wider range of determining nitrosamines in urine, high sensitivity and accuracy, while simplifying the sample preparation step.
