FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: passive bus safety system comprises an outer air bag fitted with a casing and providing for an opening opposite the driver seat when deployed, gas generators, control module, overload sensor and power supply source. The system is equipped by an overload sensor switch, and the casing of the outer air bag is of box section and is installed horizontally at the front end of the roof along the bus width. The outer air bag filled with gas embraces the front end of the bus from the roof panel to the lower body edge and its outer damping surface is flat and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bus.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of protection for the people involved in a collision due to the possibility of timely switch-on of the passive safety system by the driver in order to cushion the head-on crash by the outer air bag.
