FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: set of inventions relates to gas generator (10) for motor vehicle safety airbag (12), as well as to airbag unit and safety system for airbag inflation with such gas generator. The gas generator contains pyrotechnic charge and pyrotechnic initiator (28) located in combustion chamber (14) and made capable to be actuated by the first detection system (30) intended to detect unavoidable collision condition, and/or the second detection system (32) intended to detect accomplished collision condition, passage (16, 18) for gas discharge between combustion chamber (14) and airbag (12), and at least one valve (34) made capable to move from the first position where it determines the first flow section of discharge to the second position where it determines the second flow section of discharge, which exceeds the first flow section of discharge, or in reverse direction. In particular, valve (34) is actuated so that to determine larger flow section of discharge when pyrotechnical initiator (28) is actuated by the first detection system (30).
EFFECT: possibility to adapt inflation speed depending on whether a collision is accomplished or unavoidable.
