FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: method to protect a weld joint of pipes with an inner coating against corrosion involves removal of the inner coating inside the pipe ends, application of a sealant and installation of a backing bush between the pipe ends and connection of the pipes by welding. The pipe ends with removed ends of the inner coating and partially the pipe ends without the inner coating are hermetically closed by shells from corrosion resistant steel with the shell ends being placed inside the pipe ends and are coated by the sealant, the backing bush clad by a corrosion resistant steel case from the inside is installed between the pipe ends. The ends of the said case protrude beyond the end faces of the backing bush and the shell ends are covered by the case ends. The applied sealant provides for the adhesion of contacting surfaces of the ends of shells, cases and the backing bush to each other, and the middle part of the backing bush is connected to the pipe ends by welding.
EFFECT: invention provides for an improved reliability of corrosion protection for weld joints of pipes with the inner coating as well as for the simplified joint assembly.
