FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: occupational history is studied; clinical and radiological examinations, as well as an osteodensimetry are carried out to detect the following values: profession; osteoporosis sings in at least one of elbow or knee joints; a hyperostosis coefficient of a middle diaphysis of the left radial bone; a reference density of a distal metaphysis of the right radial bone; a hyperostosis coefficient of a middle diaphysis of the left shin bone; a reference density of a proximal metadiaphysis of the right shin bone; a T criterion in the right radial bone; a T criterion in the lumbar spine. That is followed by calculating prognostic coefficients F1, F2, F3 to be compared. If F1 is more than F2 and F3, occupational fluorosis is suspected. If F2 is more than F1 and F3, a high risk of developing fluorosis is predicted. If F3 is more than F1 and F2, a risk of developing fluorosis is considered to be low.

EFFECT: method enables more accurate prediction of developing fluorosis in workers by assessing a combination of risk factors, clinical-radiological and osteodensimetric signs of bone remodelling which are the most informative ones.
