A message processing method comprises steps of: receiving an incoming message, associating said message with a dialogue chain by assigning a dialogue identifier to the incoming message, creating and storing a dialogue rule for the dialogue chain in a table of dialogue actions, wherein the table of dialogue actions contains a plurality of columns, a dialogue identifier, a Boolean parameter for indicating if the dialogue rule applies to the dialogue identifier, information for enforcing the dialogue rule, determining if the dialogue rule is associated with the dialogue chain, automatically applying the dialogue rule. The device realises the said method.
