SUBSTANCE: adsorber for purifying air from vapour of mercury-containing substances comprises a housing with a cover and an adsorbent; the housing and the cover are connected through sealing gaskets by bolts, and inside the housing, coaxial to the housing, there is a cup surrounded by an insulation made of soft heat-insulating basalt plate, and in the cup, in the top and bottom parts of the cup, there are perforated discs, wherein the volume of the cup between the discs is filled with an adsorbent - granular material with high adsorption capacity and which is sulphur-impregnated activated carbon, and meshes are placed between the discs and the adsorbent, wherein a pipe which feeds contaminated air is mounted in the cover and a pipe which outputs air purified from mercury vapour is mounted in the housing.

EFFECT: high degree of purifying a gas stream from a desired component by increasing the area of contact of the adsorbent with the desired component.
