FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing hydrogen by reacting aluminium and water includes pseudo-liquefaction of aluminium in form of nanopowder with a stream of compressed inert gas and bringing the obtained reactant into contact with steam in a reaction area, as a result of which the fluidised aluminium nanopowder self-ignites and burns in the steam in the reaction area to obtain high temperatures for gasification of the aluminium nanoparticles and form a gas-phase reaction medium in which high-temperature synthesis occurs and molecular hydrogen is obtained, which is continuously separated by a membrane which is selectively permeable for hydrogen, as the end product from reactor exhaust by-products such as residual steam, inert gas and additional products obtained during synthesis, e.g. dispersed particles of crystalline corundum.
EFFECT: high efficiency of obtaining hydrogen.
