FIELD: physical and chemical processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to physical and chemical processes for obtaining thermal energy, hydrogen and oxygen during electrolysis of water. Method of producing hydrogen and oxygen involves converting electrical energy in a plasma electrolytic process and producing hydrogen and oxygen, plasma electrolytic process is provided by feeding an electrolyte solution with a turbulent continuous flow through a system of symmetrically arranged horizontally hollow cylindrical electrodes with holes, cathodes are made of bronze with total area s=34.8⋅10-4 m2, anodes – from stainless steel with total area s=16.4⋅10-4 m2, formed gases are discharged by means of outlet nozzles for collection of hydrogen and oxygen, wherein solution of electrolyte used is aqueous solution of alkali Ca(OH)2 with density of 1030 kg/m3, electrolysis process takes place at pulse voltage using pulse current of triangular shape of 4.58 A, and the process intensity is controlled by changing the number of electrode pairs from 2 to 8 and the distance between them.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of hydrogen and heat production during operation of electrolysis unit and saving of power consumption.
