FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly to production of tantalum powders for production of electrolytic capacitors. Method involves steps of producing primary tantalum nanopowder from tantalum pentachloride in a stream of hydrogen-containing thermal plasma, purification from impurities of hydrogen and chlorine-containing compounds during thermal treatment of the obtained primary tantalum nanopowder. Thermal treatment of tantalum nanopowder is carried out in three stages. At the first stage, said impurities are cleaned in a vacuum, at the second stage, the powder morphology is changed with the transformation of nanoparticles into submicron particles in a vacuum, and at the third stage, the surface of the obtained submicron particles is doped with nitrogen and hydrogen in a gaseous medium containing said elements, further, the obtained doped submicron particles are agglomerated to obtain microgranules, which are classified with separation of microgranules of a given size range.
EFFECT: obtaining submicron particles, the surface layer of which is doped with hydrogen and nitrogen.
