FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: cutting tool comprises insert connected with cooling plate provided with coolant passage. To up the insert durability, insert cutting edge is provided with ledges and recesses made there between. Cooling plate has face surfaces, grooves and bilks of face surface under face surface plane for connection with ledges and grooves on the insert. Coolant outlet boundaries composed by insert and grooves of cooling plate face surface are located between cutting edge and section of continuous contact with face surface chip. Note also that cooling plate face surface comprises surfaces shaped to wedge or blade, is connected with heat ducts and has ledges, recesses and bumpy elements. Note here that said ledges are composed of the angle formed by deviation of face surface from end surface and spaced from cutting edge for 0.2-1.5 mm.
EFFECT: higher durability of insert.
