FIELD: physics, computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of forming an image on a substrate, including on a thin flexible substrate, which can be used in making printed-circuit boards, electronic displays and printed sensors. The method includes the following steps: first depositing onto a substrate a colour-forming polyin which can be activated by heating and is nonreactive; activating the polyin in three areas of the substrate where the image is to be formed; after activation, the polyin becomes reactive; converting the activated polyin to its coloured form to obtain an image; the polyin is an amide which is formed by a primary amine and diacetylene mono- or dicarboxylic acid.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain any colour images on substrates and make durable devices with printed electronic circuits which may be exposed to the environment without changes in conductivity.
