FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: tumour location and size are determined. Insertion points for main and auxiliary heaters are marked. High-temperature heating (thermal ablation) is two-staged. The first stage involves a thermal ablation surrounding a tumour within a normal tissue of the bone. That is ensured by inserting the main heaters into the marked points surrounding the tumour under ultrasonic vibrations to determine an internal heated space. That is followed by the first stage of thermal ablation at a temperature of the main heaters not less than 65. The pre-set temperature is stabilised for the whole period of exposure. The second stage involves the complete thermal ablation of the entire internal heated space of the bone tissue. For this purpose, the auxiliary heaters are inserted into the bone enclosed between the main heaters, into the marked points under ultrasonic vibrations. That is followed by high-temperature ablation at a temperature of all (main and auxiliary) heaters of not less than 65°C. The pre-set temperature of the heaters is stabilised for the whole period of exposure.
EFFECT: method enables providing uniform and stable high-temperature ablation of the bone tumour within the healthy tissues thereby reducing a probability of metastasis and reducing an extent of surgical intervention.
