FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method to measure a pitch angle and a radio navigation system for its implementation consists in the fact that from a point with available coordinates they radiate horizontally linearly-polarised electromagnetic waves, a vector of intensity of electric field of which is located in the horizontal plane. On board of the aircraft they perform a side acceptance of electromagnetic waves relative to direction of aircraft motion in a circular polarisation basis, they measure difference of phases between orthogonally polarised components along the circle of the left and right directions of electric field vector rotation, and by measured difference of phases they determine the pitch angle between the longitudinal axis of the aircraft and horizontal plane.
EFFECT: elimination of continuous accumulation with the course of time of a measurement error and insensitivity to overloads, which arise in case of a non-stationary flight mode.
