FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: pitch angle measurement involves horizontally emitting linearly polarised electromagnetic waves from a point with known coordinates. On-board the aircraft, a receiving antenna whose axis of symmetry is perpendicular to the direction of movement thereof performs lateral reception of electromagnetic waves, wherein eigen polarisation of the receiving antenna is linear and rotates with a certain frequency. The pitch angle of the aircraft is determined from the phase of the spectral component at double the frequency of rotation of the polarisation plane of the received signals, said phase being measured at the output of the receiver.
EFFECT: high accuracy.
