FIELD: radio navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio navigation and can be used in aircraft instrument landing systems. Disclosed method uses radar navigation means and involves placing a passive polarization-anisotropic radar angle reflector of electromagnetic waves with horizontal linear intrinsic polarization at a point with known coordinates. From the aircraft, the receiving-transmitting antenna, the axis of symmetry of the directional pattern of which is perpendicular to the direction of movement of the aircraft, irradiates the radar corner reflector with a linearly polarized electromagnetic wave, the polarization plane of which rotates with a certain frequency. Reflected electromagnetic wave is received aboard aircraft, polarization of which coincides with polarization of emitted electromagnetic wave. Electromagnetic waves are received in linear polarization basis, unit vectors of which coincide with vertical and longitudinal construction axes of aircraft. Pitch angle of the aircraft is determined from the spectral component phase measured at the output of the receiver at double the rotation frequency of the polarization plane of the received signals.
EFFECT: measurement of pitch angle of aircraft by radar method and in exclusion of constant accumulation of measurement error in course of time.
