FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: distal inferior vena cava, both iliac veins and veins of both extremities of a person being tested are scanned by ultrasound immediately prior to the beginning of a special treatment. Further, the special treatment is combined with daily ultrasonic scanning to draw a conclusion by comparing current and previous findings. If observing new thrombus masses on a previously intact segment of the vein, a risk of pulmonary artery thromboembolia is determined.
EFFECT: method enables well-timed detection of embologenic thrombosis and stating the risk of pulmonary artery thromboembolia that promotes preventing pulmonary artery thromboembolia intentionally.
