FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of acoustic metrology, and in particular, to piezoelectric converters. A piezoelectric converter comprises two identical transversely polarised piezoelectric plates, directions of linear polarisations of which are mutually orthogonal. Thicknesses of plates are identical and equal to a quarter of wave length on working frequency. Surfaces of both plates contain electrodes connected to a source of voltage. Electrodes may be connected with a source of electric signal so that external electrodes are connected to one outlet of the source, and inner electrodes - to the other one, or so that the external electrode of one plate and the inner electrode of the other plate are connected to one outlet of the source, and two remaining electrodes - to the other outlet.
EFFECT: creation of piezoelectric converter radiating waves with circular polarisation.
