FIELD: wave radiation and reception in liquid. SUBSTANCE: acoustic antenna has two piezoelectric strips joined together and made of rectangular parallelepiped shaped piezoids whose two opposite faces bear electrodes 5; these strips are arranged so that initial polarization of piezoids in each of two strips is unidirectional; surfaces of electrodes 5 on piezoids 4 of first strip are perpendicular to planar interface between strips and electrodes of each piezoid of this strip are electrically connected to those of adjacent piezoids; surfaces of electrodes 5 and piezoids 4 of second strip are parallel to planar interface between strips; electrodes 5 of each piezoid 4 of this strip are electrically insulated from those of adjacent piezoids; applying respective ac voltages to electrodes 5 of piezoids 4 ensures one-way radiation of acoustic waves by antenna dispensing with acoustic screen. Antenna will function normally when dipped in water through any depth. EFFECT: simplified design and reduced size of antenna. 2 dwg
