SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in paint and paper production. The additive used for an aqueous suspension of at least one material containing calcium carbonate is 2-aminoethanol in amount of 500-15000 mg, preferably 1000-5000 mg, and more preferably 1300-2000 mg, per litre of the aqueous phase of said suspension. The suspension has pH in the range of 8.5-11 and contains 25-62 vol.% of at least one material containing calcium carbonate, with respect to the total volume of the suspension. The pH of the suspension increases by at least 0.3 pH units, and specific conductivity of the suspension changes by not more than 100 mcS/cm per pH unit.

EFFECT: invention improves stability with respect to specific conductivity of suspensions containing calcium carbonate.
