FIELD: physics, optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a housing for an optical fibre assembly and can be used for compact storage of optical fibre elements while still providing the possibility to efficiently splice individual optical fibre elements. The housing described in the present invention is adapted to receive a first and a second loop of an optical cable. The housing comprises a first set of guides defining a first plane for inserting the first loop and a second set of guides defining a second plane for inserting the second loop. The planes are under a base angle between 40° and 90°, and the first loop surrounds the second loop.
EFFECT: providing compact storage of optical fibre elements.
