FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: method consists in analysis of an amplitude of reflected signals from objects of search after their processing based on a correlation convolution integral; besides, measurement of a position angle is performed by choosing the number of a parallel channel corresponding to height of the object of search, as per assessment of maximum of a propagation factor, which depends as much as possible on height of the object of search, based on use in channels to correlators of band pass filters, the characteristics of which correspond to heights of detected objects according to the calculated propagation factor for the chosen heights, with further combination of all channels by a selection scheme to maximum, at the output of which there determined is the number of the channel with expected height of the object of search. A device implementing the proposed method is offered as well.

EFFECT: measurement of angular height of a detected object in surveillance non-linear radars of close action with a small-size moving antenna system.
