FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: prediction of a risk of progressing glaucomous optic neuropathy (GON) is ensured by measuring patients' blood lactate; and if the measured lactate value is ≥4.33 mmole/l, a high risk of the glaucomous optic neuropathy progression for 1 year following the examination is predicted.
EFFECT: accessible and cheap clinical-laboratory method for the prediction of the risk of the GON progression.
