METHOD FOR ASSESSING AND PREDICTING THE RISK OF DEVELOPING SMALL AIRWAY DYSFUNCTION IN PATIENTS WITH BRONCHIAL ASTHMA ASSOCIATED WITH OBESITY Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B5/00 A61B5/87 G01N33/48

Abstract RU 2778070 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to pulmonology, and can be used to assess and predict the risk of developing small airway dysfunction (SA) in patients with partially controlled bronchial asthma, mild severity associated with obesity of I and II degrees. To do this, the body mass index in kg/m2 is determined, the indicator of the function of external respiration according to spirometry (FEV1/FVC) in %, the indicator of the immune response: the level of cytokine IL-17A in pg/ml. Then, based on the data obtained, the coefficient (C) in conventional units is calculated according to the original mathematical formula, which is a criterion indicator for assessing the presence and degree of risk of progression of SA dysfunction. If the C value is less than 114 CU, the absence of SA dysfunction is established, the prognosis is favorable; if the C value is in the range from 114 to 140 CU, the presence of SA dysfunction is established and the risk of progression of SA dysfunction is assessed as low; if the C value is more than 140 CU. the presence of SA dysfunction is established and the risk of progression of SA dysfunction is assessed as high, the prognosis is unfavorable.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to reliably assess and predict the risk of developing SA dysfunction in this category of patients in the early stages of the disease in order to increase the effectiveness of treatment due to its timely correction and prevention of disease progression.
