FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to ion-drift and mass spectrometry and can be widely used in solving analytical tasks in organic and bioorganic chemistry, immunology, biotechnology, criminal science, proteomics, metabolomics, medicine, metabonomics and post-translational modification. The apparatus for electrospraying chromatographic streams of test solutions of substances for ion sources is in form of coaxially arranged capillaries directed vertically. A solution is fed into the inner metal capillary and voltage from a high-voltage power source is applied across said capillary. Electrospraying takes place vertically upwards from the end of said capillary. The outer coaxial capillary has an inner diameter which is greater than the outer diameter of the inner capillary. Excess unsprayed solution flowing on the outer wall of the inner capillary, along with laboratory air, is pumped out by an air pump through the gap between the coaxial capillaries.
EFFECT: increased flow of the sprayed solution, monodispersion of micro-droplets, absence of large uncontrolled droplets, thereby reducing noise in the recorded spectrum.
