FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method to measure angular movements with a laser gyroscope is proposed, including tuning and operation of a laser gyroscope in a double-frequency mode on one of orthogonally polarised modes of the circular laser of the laser gyroscope, development of sign-alternating dithering with the help of application of magnetic field onto an active element of a circular laser with elliptical or circular polarisation of radiation in active element of the circular laser, identification of information on angular movements from information arriving from a circular laser, periodical alternate operation of the circular laser in double-frequency mode on modes with orthogonal polarisations of the circular laser, switching of the circular laser to the mode with orthogonal polarisation after each another moment of completion of circular laser operation at any of these modes, in which previously they measure and/or calculate for modes with orthogonal polarisations the dependence of frequency of dithering on the value of detune of circular laser resonator perimeter. Previously or in process of measurements of angular movements during switching of polarisations in each appropriate orthogonal mode of this switching they measure dependence of amplitude of sign-alternating dithering on time, using which they determine time intervals during switching of polarisations, in which they will use results of measurements of angular movements with account of errors specified by variation of dithering due to detune of circular laser perimeter, caused by switching of polarisation, at each another switching during measurements of angular movements in each appropriate orthogonal mode of this switching for each chosen time interval they measure dependence of amplitude of sign-alternating dithering on time, for each chosen time interval during each such switching in process of measurement of angular movements they calculate and account errors, specified by variation of the value of dithering due to detune of circular laser resonator perimeter during switching of polarisation, using the previously measured and/or calculated dependence of dithering on the value of detune of circular laser resonator perimeter for the appropriate orthogonal mode and measured for the same orthogonal mode during this switching dependence of amplitude of sign-alternating dithering on time.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to substantially reduce errors of measurements of angular movements due to reduced time of invalid information retrieval during switching of polarisations.
