FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to separation of gas mixes and can be used in coal industry. Proposed method comprises flow swirling in swirler. Swirled flow is separated in direct-flow swirling tube to two flows: peripheral flow with prevalence of heavy components and central flow with prevalence of light components. Said components are extracted via separated flows controlled outlets. Flow swirling is performed with flow acceleration to velocity with tangential component exceeding minimum peripheral velocity of gas mix full swirling to magnitude sufficient to cause said separation to peripheral and central flows. Said swirling is performed in circular channel wherein axial zone is free of flow while at outlet the components one of said flows are partially extracted at partial deceleration of said flow and separation of components discharge zone from swirled flow. Separator of heavy components comprises said swirler, direct-flow vortex tube and heavy components sorter composed by circular chamber of manifold. The latter is connected via lengthwise slits in vortex tube case with tube inner free space. Swirler consists of multistart screw with central body to compress and accelerate gas mix flow at swirling. Circular channel composed by coaxial cylindrical bar downstream of central body is intended for swirled flow. Note that sorter of heaving components is arranged on circular channel outlet to remove heavy components from peripheral flow. Upstream of said sorter, lengthwise ribs are arranged to decelerate the peripheral flow swirling, ribs height decreasing with flow rate. Vortex tube case lengthwise grooves are surrounded by shell aligned with vortex tube case to separate sorter zone from swirled flow. Separator of light components comprises said swirler, direct-flow vortex tube and light components sorter composed by circular chamber of manifold. Swirler consists of multistart screw with central body to compress and accelerate gas mix flow at swirling. Circular channel composed by coaxial cylindrical bar downstream of central body is intended for swirled flow. Separator of light components is arranged at circular channel outlet with clearance relative to cylindrical bar and coaxial therewith. Upstream of said sorter, lengthwise ribs in height decreasing with flow rate while circular clearance is surrounded by cylindrical shell coaxial with vortex tube case. Said shell separate light component sorter zone from swirled flow.

EFFECT: invention improves the efficiency of components' separation in a direct-flow vortex tubes saving high productivity, in particular, enriches with methane mine methane-air mixture to the condition suitable for utilization in cogeneration gas engine plants and production of high quality electrical and thermal energy with significant reduce of the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
