FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: claimed technical solution relates to the field of inert gases purification from gaseous admixtures by means of chemical reagents in industrial installations, intended for high-temperature processing of chemically active materials. Claimed is a method of fine purification of argon from nitrogen admixtures, which includes placing a chemical reagent from a titanium alloy in a reactor of a purification system and its heating to 870-920°C, in which as the reagent applied are briquettes from chip wastes of mechanical processing of the titanium alloy. The density of a briquette constitutes 1.35-1.4 g/cm3. The briquettes are made in the form of plates or disks with the height from 7 to 18 mm, width of chips constitutes not more than 1.1-1.2 mm. Placement of the briquettes into the reactor of the purification system is realised layer-by-layer, with placement of the briquette sides with larger surface area towards the stream of purified gas.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the resource of a reagent and reduce cost of the argon purification process.
