FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of treating nitrogen-containing aqueous liquid wastes containing nitrates of metals or metalloids. The method includes a step for calcination of the wastes in order to convert nitrates of metals or metalloids into oxides of said metals or metalloids, at least one compound selected from the nitrates of metals or metalloids and other compounds of the wastes resulting, upon calcination, in a tacky oxide, and a dilution adjuvant leading, upon calcination, to a non-tacky oxide when added to the wastes before the calcination step. The disclosed method also employs a dilution adjuvant which contains aluminium nitrate and at least one nitrate selected from iron nitrate and nitrates of rare-earth elements.
EFFECT: improved method.
