FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry. A test sample of bottom-ash material and nitric acid vapour are brought into contact in an insulated chamber for 8-90 hours. After opening the chamber, the test sample is extracted from the chamber and distilled water is poured. The pH of the obtained solution is measured. Sorption capacity of the test sample with respect to nitric acid vapour is estimated based on the difference between pH of said solution and pH of the solution obtained after contact between the starting material and distilled water.

EFFECT: high effectiveness of evaluation.
