SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used in gear transmissions lubricated with lubricating greases. A gear wheel includes body 1, gear rim with teeth 2 and lubricant-retaining pockets in the form of flanges 3 located on end faces 5 of teeth throughout the length of their side surfaces 6. On the end faces of teeth throughout the length of the side surfaces for attachment of the flanges a provision is made for broadenings 7 of teeth 2 with a thickness that is larger than the maximum wear value of the side surfaces.

EFFECT: providing operability of a gear wheel during wear of its teeth.
