FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: gear wheel comprises body 1 and rim with teeth 2. Lubricant retainers composed of flanges 4 are arranged along lateral surfaces 3, at tooth ends. Distance from lateral surfaces to flanges increases from minimum to maximum in direction of tooth top to tooth root and in direct proportion to amount of lubricant forced out from lateral surfaces.
EFFECT: higher wear resistance.
