ELECTROSURGICAL APPARATUS AND ELECTROSURGICAL INSTRUMENT Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC A61B18/12

Abstract RU 2532364 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to an electrosurgical apparatus. The electrosurgical apparatus comprises an electrosurgical instrument, a detection unit and an operation unit. The detection unit is designed for detecting a specified atmospheric constituent within a surgical site and comprises a light emission sensor within the surgical site. The operation unit can be connected to the instrument and comprises a power generator for generating high-frequency energy. The operation unit accommodates electrosurgical process regulators controlled by an output signal of the detection unit. A section of the detection unit is mounted in a proximal portion of the electrosurgical instrument or outside it; the instrument has the first fluid passage designed for gas flowing into the detection unit. The electrosurgical process regulators have a fluid source designed for the fluid supply for the electrosurgical operation applicable for the electrosurgical process effect, particularly an oxygen or inactive gas container or a water tank for water or water solution collection. The electrosurgical instrument has the second fluid passage designed for the fluid passage for the electrosurgical operation applicable for the electrosurgical process effect to a distal end of the instrument. The light emission sensor comprises a monochromatic filter or a monochromatic light source and a light detector for detecting light emission from the monochromatic filter or the monochromatic light source.

EFFECT: using the invention provides lowering a degree of carbon saturation, avoiding an explosion, and reducing a rate of unintentional tissue injuries.
