ELECTROSURGICAL RESECTOR INSTRUMENT Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B18/14

Abstract RU 2775542 C2

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: electrosurgical resector instrument contains a rod defining a lumen; an energy transmission structure for transmission of radio frequency (hereinafter – RF) electromagnetic (hereinafter – EM) energy and microwave EM energy through the lumen of the rod, wherein the energy transmission structure contains a coaxial transmission line passing in the longitudinal direction through the lumen, wherein the coaxial transmission line contains an internal conductor separated from an external conductor with dielectric material; and an instrument tip mounted on the distal end of the rod. The instrument tip contains a fixed part containing the first blade element, wherein the first blade element contains a flat dielectric case passing in the longitudinal direction, containing the first electrode on its first side-facing surface; and a movable part containing the second blade element, wherein the movable part is made with the possibility of rotation relatively to the fixed part within the plane of rotation between a closed position, in which the first blade element and the second blade element are located next to each other in a transverse direction perpendicular to the plane of rotation, and an open position, in which the second blade element is spaced with the first blade element by means of a gap for reception of biological tissue. The second electrode is located on the second side-facing surface of the specified flat dielectric case passing in the longitudinal direction, opposite to its first side-facing surface, as a result of which the second electrode is spaced with the first electrode and electrically isolated from it by the specified flat dielectric case passing in the longitudinal direction. An actuator is used to control the relative movement between the movable part and the fixed part. The second blade element has a length corresponding to a length of the first blade element. In the closed position, it is located next to the second side-facing surface of the flat dielectric case passing in the longitudinal direction. The internal conductor is connected to one of the first electrode and the second electrode, and the external conductor is connected to the other of the first electrode and the second electrode, by means of which the first electrode and the second electrode act: as active and reverse electrodes to supply RF energy transmitted from the energy transmission structure for cutting biological tissue taken between blade elements; and the structure of microwave field radiation to supply microwave energy transmitted from the energy transmission structure to coagulate biological tissue taken between blade elements. An electrosurgical device for cutting, coagulation or ablation of biological tissue is disclosed.

EFFECT: providing a combined and compact power supply actuator.
