FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: plate with multiangular exterior shape contains the front surface with chip breaker, the rear surface, the cutting edge is formed at the cross-section area between the front and rear surfaces and it contains an arc-shaped cutting edge at one of the top areas, the working cutting edge continuing from one side of the arc-shaped cutting edge and linear cutting edge continuing from the other side of the arc-shaped cutting edge. The chip-breaking concave section is formed close to the arc-shaped cutting edge at the front surface; the chip-breaking protrusion is raised from the lower surface of the chip-breaking concave section. The chip-breaking concave section is formed by inclined surfaced curved in concave manner and connected smoothly to the lower surface section, inclined gradually to the lower surface section from peripheral edge area at the top area side towards the lower surface area. At that ascending angle of the wall surface in regard to the plane parallel to the upper and lower surfaces is less than ascending angle of the wall surface at chip-breaking protrusion in regard to the plane parallel to the upper and lower surfaces.
EFFECT: improvement of chip control at different processing modes.
