FIELD: heating.

SUBSTANCE: heater of high-temperature furnace for heating preforms of quartz glass relates to technology of manufacturing optical fibre. The heater comprises a cylindrical heating element from the thin metal band made of Zr or Ti. The Zr or Ti band is preliminary nitrided in nitrogen medium. The heater is screened by the cylinder of titanium or zirconium tin to reduce the power loss of the furnace for emission and absorption of impurity oxygen.

EFFECT: simplification of the manufacturing method of the heating element while simultaneous reducing its current load.
