SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for catching small rodents, in particular, mice and rats. The trap contains a base. Pivotally attached to the case are a spring-loaded frame and a cock. Positioned on the base is the bait holder. The bait holder is designed in the form of a loop enclosing the base. The opposite ends of the loop form two L-shaped vertical elements. The vertical elements are positioned opposite each other sides of the cock. The shelves of the vertical elements are turned towards each other with a clearance formed between them. The clearance width exceeds that of the cock. The bait holder is designed so that to enable movement along the base.

EFFECT: ensuring enhanced safety of the trap handling and enhanced efficiency of the trap operation.
