FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an end stand design for use in units of isolated rail joints applied in systems of railway lines. The end stand for a unit of a rail joint comprises an upper part, a base and a connection leg between the upper part and the base. The upper part has a profile, mainly identical to profiles of heads of the first rail and the second rail of the rail joint unit. In the end stand one or more of the upper part, the base and the connection leg comprises multiple fragments from the first electric insulation material. Fragments are placed on or in the second electric insulation material. In their turn the fragments are preferably spaced from each other and are mainly disc- or cylinder-shaped. Also these fragments are preferably made of ceramic material, such as zirconium dioxide, aluminium oxide or silicon nitride. The second electric insulating material comprises a polymer material, such as polyurethane.
EFFECT: due to structural design the stand is capable of maintaining compressing load, to reduce dynamic stress, which provides for improved operating characteristics of an insulated rail and longer service life.
