FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway track superstructure, namely, to rail insulated joints designs. Pad rail butt insulating connection consists a base made of composite material with additional lengthwise inclusions. Composite material used is fiberglass or basalt plastic, and longitudinal inclusions are made from high-strength aramid composite material, which is molded into the base in layers. Besides, on the rail neck side the base is equipped with magnet shunting composite insulating element covering two internal central bolt holes of the pad.
EFFECT: reduction of weight is achieved at simultaneous increase of strength, stiffness, fatigue durability of the pad, reduced magnetism of the rail, reduced labor input of fabrication of the pad.
